Australian
Sprint Distance Championships St Kilda Race 6
Race
day photo's
Hi
All,
The
last race of the season was held today at StKilda. In
not so great weather (probably the worst of the season)
Tri-alliance competitors raced over the sprint distance
course in a race that doubled as the Australian Age
Group Sprint Championships. With many of our athletes
now in ‘off season party mode’ (well deserved
I might add) and not racing it was a committed and select
few that pulled on the sluggo’s for the last time
this season.
Walking
down to the race start it was very warm and quiet and
there was little wind. As the race unfolded though it
become apparent that the good race weather was not going
to last. Even though still warm it poured rain a few
times and it just showed the commitment of the coaches
to stand out there in the pouring rain to support all
you hard working athletesJ
Also
today the awards for the Gatorade Series Awards were
handed out also in a very long presentation ceremony.
It was however fitting that many athletes hung around
to see the awards and congratulated many of their achievements.
Mind you I think a few mistakes were made today in who
finished where and will more than likely be sorted out
next week.

Congratulations
to all Tri-alliance competitors that competed over the
course of the season and all the coaches can’t
wait to work with all next year to achieve all those
lofty goals you set yourself.
Just
one quick reminder we have 3 girls competing this week
at the Australian Schools Championships in Sydney Lynne
Duthie, Meg Russel and Michelle Augustynek so we wish
them the best of luck as well. Stay tuned for that Race
Report.
The
Australian Ironman at Forster (for the last time) was
on yesterday and we had a couple of Tri-alliance competitors
however at the time of writing this no official results
were in.
Happy
Resting!
