HALLS GAP TRAINING WEEK
Wednesday
August 10th 2005 – Sunday August 14th 2005
Hi
All,
Well
yes - Halls Gap after much deliberation will be run
this year. It has been a very hard decision for me to
make and there will be some sacrifices made to run it
with lower numbers but I think we can manage. We will
have to do without a couple of our guest speakers whom
were going to require sizeable amounts to come and speak
at our camp, but the response from the people who ‘are’
going and do want to go has been over whelming so I
have made arrangements to run the camp on a little lesser
scale. We will still have to pay sizable amounts for
our stay at the camp and our Lane Hire Fees at Waterworld
and Ararat Pool but I want to go on this camp and everybody
who has put their names down definitely does as well
– so we make the adjustments and hope it turns
out ok. It will.
Obviously
it is very disappointing for me to even have to be sending
this email in the first place – although I am
not going to jump on the ‘soapbox’ again,
as you all know how I feel about the way this has turned
out.
There
are still a great many people who have not paid there
money and given that deposits were due on Friday 15th
of July, it is now expected these people pay the full
amount as soon as possible before the camp. If anyone
else wishes to come on the camp please contact me asap.
Please
if you have any questions regarding the training camp
please contact me.

If you have been handed this letter it means that in
your hand is an invite to one of the best winter Triathlon
training experiences that Victoria has to offer. The
2005 Annual Halls Gap Annual Winter Training Camp is
on again this coming August. From Wednesday 10th of
August to Sunday the 14th of August 2005 you will have
the opportunity to train with some of Australia’s
best age group and professional triathletes and learn
off some of Victoria’s top coaches in the beautiful
mountainous surrounds of Halls Gap. Utilising every
hill, bush track and facility that this small Victorian
town has to offer you will be given the opportunity
to train like a ‘full timer’ in a well structured,
controlled training program that will run for 5 Days.
Given
the success of last year’s camp and the fantastic
feedback we received, planning is very much under way
to make your 2005 training camp experience a mentally
and physically rewarding one. Last year our camp attracted
and was limited to 50 athletes only. This year due to
the popularity of the camp we have increased the maximum
participant number of athletes to 75. We have again
tried to provide value for money and given the options
that I have outlined on the following pages we have
tried to make the camp as affordable and user friendly
as possible.
We
have listened to the ideas that you the athlete provided
us with at the end of the camp last year and we will
be making the necessary changes for this year’s
camp. One of the main things that you will notice will
be the better range of natural and unprocessed foods
available to you at all your meals. You will again not
be limited in the amounts of food available at all times
of the day, however things such as sports supplements
will be up to you to bring and use as you choose.
Outlined
below I have listed things that will be important to
know leading up to the camp itself, including all costs
and what to bring. Spots will again be given on a “first
in first served basis” and preference will be
give to those athletes who are staying for the full
seven days.
For
these 5 Days, the coaching staff will make every effort
to make this training camp a challenging but rewarding
experience – and please if you have any questions
please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours
in good health

HALLS GAP WINTER TRAINING CAMP
SCHEDULE
This
year we have tried to come up with a comprehensive training
schedule that enables each athlete from ‘beginner’
to ‘elite’ to get the most out of their
5 Days at the camp. However these sessions are subject
to change depending on weather, speaker availability
and venue availability. Myself and the coaches have
made every effort to provide each sessions as it appears
on your training format sheet – However the above
factors will provide challenges that we will work through
each day to ensure that you get the most from your training
camp experience.
Also
remember that all sessions are optional. The sessions
we have provided are only your training guide for the
5 Days – you do not have to participate in all
the sessions if you don’t wish to. Obviously we
have structured this program so that each athlete gains
the maximum benefit from their time at the camp –
but remember it is only a guide.
Extra
or replacement session will be used over the training
camp again depending on the above availability factors.
If
you have any other questions please contact myself on
