Again
due to popularity, Tri Alliance have developed a no mess, no fuss guide
to train for and complete your first triathlon in 6 weeks.
Yes, that’s right, we'll have you racing in just 6 weeks with an all in one package. This coming
season you will have the opportunity to train with the most
popular and successful triathlon program in Victoria with the Tri
Alliance team.
Sessions cover all aspects of training to
complete your first Triathlon at a Gatorade or Brooks Fun
Tri for the season. If you are the absolute beginner
or you have done a few races already, this introductory program
will provide you with all the skills and confidence you need
to race in and compete in the best organised triathlon races in Australia!
All you have to do is choose the race below you want to complete, and click 'get started' to register - then leave the rest to us! It's simple as that! |

| WHAT IS INVOLVED? - PROGRAM OUTLINE |
| The main session for your 6 Week Program will be held 10.00-11.30am each Saturday at Elwood Surf Lifesaving Club. The sessions are important in learning triathlon tips & tricks, skills, race rules & regulations, transition and open water swimming. You will also be able to attend a swimming session (pool) on Wednesday Nights and running session on Thursday Nights to assist with technique and development. Further details will be provided to you. |

WEEK 1
Information Session
What to expect from your 6 Week Individual or Corporate Program.
Equipment requirements, checking of your equipment including bike set-up and roadworthy testing. |
WEEK 2
Open Water Swimming
Brief and practical on open water swimming, getting your wetsuit on and off, using lubricants and maintenance of the wetsuit, how to "read" the water, preparation and warm up. Participants will practice race start, navigation and breathing and handling different open water conditions, entering and exiting the water at speed, navigation, breathing, pack swimming, turning the buoys, finding large land marks and preparing to exit the water. |
WEEK 3
Transition One: Swim to Bike
15 to 20 minute discussion on the practical, followed by 60 min practical.
Session will start with a discussion on bike handling skills, bike set up, and the bike in transition area. This will then be followed by the practical, learning the skills of handling their bike in transition through a step by step informative and analysis on the oval.
Participants will put this together with a swim exit, running up the beach, wetsuit removal, location of bike, bike prep in transition, navigation in transition, mounting the bike and safety issues. |
WEEK 4
Transition Two: Bike to Run
15 to 20 minute discussion on the practical followed by 60 min practical.
This session will see us going through the mounting and dismounting of the bike followed by the run off the bike and the run to the finish. You will learn the skills involved in making this transition sharp and fast, increasing the skills of scooting, finding a safe and easy path to exit to, running with the bike, and finding your transition point efficiently. This will then be placed all together and you will do your first mini tri for the first time! |
WEEK 5
90 min 'Free Style' Session
Now that you have learnt the majority of the skills we will spend this session working on your weaknesses. 90 min to practice your Swim, Transition One, Bike, Transition Two and Run. |
WEEK 6
Full mini Triathlon put all you have learnt together and practice a mini triathlon to help gain your confidence.
Pre Race Clinic will be conducted on the Saturday before the race to take you through all the tips and tricks of triathlon, going physically over the transition, working out all entry and exit points showing competitors the Swim, Bike and Run courses and finishing up with Question and Answer time.

| I'VE SIGNED UP - NOW WHAT DO I DO? |
Once you have signed up, you will receive an email confirming your place in our 6 Week Try the Tri Program. We will ask you a few additional questions to ensure we have all your details correct - including the race you want to enter. You will be able to gain access to our online members account the week prior to the commencement of your program. So you may not be able to gain access immediately.
An email will be sent to you the week prior to the commencement of your program reminding you of your access details for the online members account and confirming days/times of the sessions you can attend. These dates will also be available on this page.
Then all you need to do is turn up - we'll do the rest!!
